To prevent accidents, please remember these safety tips:
• Always wear a personal floatation devise while on the river.
• Leave a float plan with a friend AND with the rangers.
• Check the forecast before making a trip and be prepared for changing weather.
• Bring extra gear: a flashlight, map, sunscreen, first-aid kit, extra sunglasses,
batteries and matches. Store these in a watertight floating container.
• If boating in the winter or cooer weather, take precaution to avoid hypothermia.
• The Lumber River is not recommended for beginners without experienced
paddlers on the trip.
